hello, :)
GrungeTV [link] and myself are to do some work together based
on and inspired by the 1976 science fiction film "the man who fell to earth" and the 1963 novel on which it is based.
why?...well,why not? :)
if you know of it already you might agree that it is a cool theme to improvise on.
personally i think its a great movie and story but compared to the sci-fi films we are used to now it is lacking all the eye candy we expect and take for granted.
the film probably cost as much to make as a two second piece of cg in any recent sci-fi film but it does have a lot of neat ideas in the story....maybe a lot more than in recent sci-fi films?

if you have never heard of the film/book you can read about it here... [link])

and the groovy original movie trailer is here.... [link]

the reason i mention it here in my journal is to see if anyone would be interested in contributing to a project like this.for fun of course,as an exersise to create some concept art, paintings or stuff inspired by the story/film,to do a bit of re-imagining...or reconceptaneering:confused: ? ? ?
watching the film again and doing some research on it has got me fired up to do some thing inspired by it,i would love to hear from anyone else interested too.

stuff

how long is too long to spend on one painting?
sometimes im done in a couple of hours but i usually spend an hour or two a day over a few days.flipping from one project to another.adding up to about a days work on each painting(i say a day but it would be more like a 10 coffee break day).
im painting a supernatural sci-fi type thing at the moment, similar to the two demons i did recently.
i got a lot of complements and comments on the level of details in my stuff recently.so i took it that generally you like detailed work,i love to do detailed work..and so i decided to up the level of detail considerably and really push it on this painting.
that was about three weeks ago and i still havnt got half way there yet.
i thought i would get bored and frustrated working on the same image all day for so much time but so far i am enjoying it so much.
it was supposed to be done in time to say "thank you for the 20,000 page views" but im late again:blushes:
i am very grateful for the 20,000 page views and the amazing friends i have made since starting here.
it will be done and im putting a lot of love into it...because your worth it:love:

so...you wont see anything else from me for a while until i finish my chrome angel.

a solid highfive to you all :highfive:

the end

well,i`m coming to the end of another "regular-job-type" job and its time to get another "regular-job-type" job to pay them "regular-bill-type-bills".
so far, so boring.

my work has nothing to do with art at all and neither do my bills.

how does someone go about getting a "art-type-job" without any "art-type-job" experience?

i really love my hobby.

do any of you have any advice on...

getting a "something-that-you-really-love-to-do-and-would
-probably-be-quite-good-at-if-you-were-given-a
-chance-to-prove-yourself-and-pay-them-regular-bill-type-bills
" kind of job?
or do you know of someone who might hire a "no-experience-yet-but-has-enthusiasm-and-
a-little-entry-level-type-talent-type-of-guy" ?

i cant go to college.."regular-bill-type-bills".
and i cant work for "free" to get the experience as a "fuck off" often offends people.also them"regular-bill-type-bills" again.

so...any advice, spells, tips, rituals, knowledge, voodoo, websites, sacred scrolls or links would be greatly appreciated.

ps.i am painting something, two or three weeks now :omg: cant wait to post it..but it so much fun i dont want to finish.my best machine yet (i think). :salute:
